  • Impotency occurs when a husband and wife are unable to conceive.
  • The cause may be from the husband, wife or both.

Causes of Male Impotency

  • Testes do not produce sperm.
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Low-quality or abnormal sperm.
  • Hormonal imbalance.
  • Low sperm count.

Causes of Female Impotency

  • Ovaries do not produce secondary oocytes.
  • Blocked Fallopian tubes.
  • Abnormal uterus.
  • Hormonal imbalance.
  • Growth in the uterus.

Treatment for Impotency

  • Hormonal imbalance: Hormonal therapy.
  • Blocked Fallopian tubes or sperm ducts: Surgery.
  • Blocked Fallopian tubes: In vitro fertilisation (IVF).
